Spirit Week
Spirit Week was a joyous celebration for everyone, especially the students. The three-day celebration from November 14 to 16, 2023 involved students dressing up in their favorite color, as their favorite video game character, and in an assigned color per cluster.
On the third day, regular classes were replaced by a program spearheaded by the Student Council. The morning program had a lively hip-hop SWF-inspired remix performance led by Zach Ty, beautiful and heartfelt band presentations by selected Grade 9 students, and a coordinated dance production of "What is Love" by Twice, which was performed by several high school students.
The awarding of the best costumes also took place, and after that was a raffle for both elementary and high school. The students were then given the freedom to explore the game and food booths.
The entirety of the afternoon program was dedicated to the Students Feud—an intense game where representatives of every batch in high school would compete against each other to collect as many points as they could by answering questions. In the elimination round, Grades 8, 9, and 12 won against Grades 7, 10, and 11 respectively. A black-and-white game decided that Grades 9 and 12 would move into the semi-finals (which Grade 12 won), and Grade 8 would have an assured position in the finals round. A tension-filled battle between Grades 8 and 12 took place, and Grade 8 won as the champion batch.

Christmas Celebration
The holiday spirit was all around as Makati Hope celebrated Christmas on December 21. On that day, Makati Hope invited a special speaker, Pastora Catherine Sharon—a former Makati Hope chemistry teacher turned missionary—to share her story as a woman who spent more than twenty years conducting outreaches, programs, and disaster reliefs all over South Asia.
Pastora Sharon talked about God’s eternal love for us and how His presence empowers us to do great things—even things that are seemingly impossible, just as how with God’s help, she managed to build a school without prior construction knowledge. She added that Jesus came to give us a life of purpose and that it is our common mission to spread God’s love and blessings. Her speech ended with a reminder that while Christmas is a time of celebration, it is also a time to appreciate those around us and make a positive impact on the lives of others.
After she was awarded for her community service, selected students performed lively song and dance numbers in honor of Christmas. The Student Council then revealed Makati Hope’s first-ever Christmas ID. After the special program, the sections then had their own celebrations, composed of fun games, delicious food, and joyful exchange of gifts. Christmas truly was one of the most memorable occasions of the year.
