Online graduation ceremonies and recognition programs for the school year (SY) 2019-2020 were still made possible even though coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic has disrupted lives.
Makati Hope Christian School (MHCS) streamed its first virtual graduation for the Grade 12 Trojans and Grade 6 Vanguards via Facebook, June 27 and July 4.
“It is within this academic community that I have learned that we have to dream big and take up space to push for agendas we believe in,” says Patrick Gabriel Lo, former editor-in-chief of the Candle Pen and English Valedictorian for the Grade 12 class, in his video valedictory address.
“No matter what life throws at us, we know that our support system and God is with us and that is assurance enough,” he added.
The graduating students also sang and performed a medley of See You Again by Wiz Khalifa, Little Wonders by Rob Thomas and Memories by Maroon 5 and the school song during the program.
Angel L. Sinco and Jimica Charise Lau, Grade 12 Chinese Valedictorian and Grade 6 Valedictorian respectively, also delivered their speeches in this video.
For the virtual year-end recognition program, the school uploaded separate videos for Grade 1, Elementary, Junior High School and Grade 11 students showing all the medalists and top three level awardees for English and Chinese per grade level on its Facebook page.
In addition, for SY 2020-2021, MHCS started online enrollments through Google Forms where parents were required to fill-up the necessary information while payment was done through bank deposits.
Starting this new school year, MHCS is offering homeschool program for nursery and pre-kinder students and is headed by Manibeth Maramba as its coordinator and advisor.
