MHCS Cups First Runner Up in FCAAF

The powerhouse MHCS Volleyball Varsity showcased their dominance in the Filipino-Chinese Amateur Athletic Federation (FCAAF) and bagged the 1st Runner Up in the Volleyball Girls 19 and Under Developmental category.

In a fiery championship match at the Philippine Cultural College, the dynamic and spirited duo of Brianne Co and Maegan Tsai led the team with their mighty spikes and staunch defensive skills. Despite dropping the first two sets against the Philippine Academy of Sakya (PAS), the MHCS team persisted and attempted to win the third set with their powerful serves and blocks but failed to gain the upper hand and ended up losing 22 - 25.

Reaching the championship game was monumental for the team, according to volleyball coach Sherwin Villarin, who credited the incredible dedication, commitment, skills and resilience of the team in qualifying for the finals and fighting despite the odds against them.

The role of the mindsets of the players themselves greatly contributed to the team's achievements, according to Brianne Co, who expressed that: “[t]he commitment of the team was vital during our daily practices while we were following the exercises given by Coach. The support from our teammates, families and coaches during the game gave us a boost.”

Both Brianne Co and Maegan Tsai earned the Mythical 6 for their outstanding performances. The desire for victory and unyielding spirit made the MHCS volleyball team a formidable one who fought to the very end. Congratulations to the MHCS volleyball varsity team, and to God be the Glory!
