I-Shou University visits MHCS

Updated: Nov 10

I-Shou University visited Makati Hope Christian School on October 25, 2022, through their representative, Dr. Chia-Kun Lee from their Office of International and Cross-strait Affairs, and introduced their academic institution to the MHCS student body.

The 32-year-old university is a comprehensive private college located in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. It is the institution of a large number of international students from 37 nationalities.

They offer an international foundation program and an international college for English speakers. Students are not required to be fluent in Chinese, however, non-Chinese speaking students have to take one year of Chinese language learning.

The senior high school students of MHCS showed appreciation and interest to apply in the overseas university.

When asked about admission requirements, Lee replies, “No entrance exam, but you need to document [your] high school performance, etc.” He later adds that the start of the school year would be in mid-September.

Two videos were shown during the visit; The first was a choreographed video showcasing different departments, while the second was a campus tour presenting the facilities of each department.

I-Shou University was founded by I-Shou Lin, who had the mission to commemorate his mother, give back to society, and complete the integration of education from kindergarten to a doctoral degree.

The first time I-Shou University visited Makati Hope Christian School was during S.Y. 2017-2018, which resulted in a summer camp where 28 students and three teachers joined.
