A Christmas Spirit

Nothing more than a grumpy old man, Ebenzeer Scrooge was

Who thought there was nothing merry about Christmas

When approached for charity he shut the door and shrugged

He scoffed and said “Bah! Humbug!”

Then in his sleep, his good friend Marley paid him a visit

And shared with him the end of his path

Then visited Christmas Past’s spirit

And showed him all the joys he could have had

Then came the ghost of Christmas Present

And showed him good people in hardship

And he understood, and felt a pain in his chest

For he knew that it was there he had them kept

Then came ghost of Christmas Yet To Come

And showed him the mark he would leave on this world

And he loathed the man he had become

And prayed it was not too late

In Scrooge’s bed woke a different man

Who thought the day to be merry

He spread the gift of Christmas every day

And Ebenzeer Scrooge died a happy man
